Dogs

Lia on the left and Quin. Lia is 8 and Quin is 3. They are both labradors but are unrelated. This is one of their spots where they can relax and see what's happening out on the road.

Orchard

This is the new orchard planted Sep 09. While the trees are small we are growing pumpkins and rock melons in between them. The raised bed is for growing sweetcorn. The trees are 2 feijoa (marion & unique), 2 mandarin (encore & okitsu), a meyer lemon, apple (cox's orange), apple (early strawberry), plum (santa rosa), pear (winter nellis), pear (wiliam bob cretin), lemonade, grapefruit (golden special).

More garden

The white rose grows wild along the road and this has grwn from a little bit I dug up and replanted.

Vegetables

Most of the garden is planted now but the plants are small and seedlings just coming up. The garlic was palnted early July will be ready in January.

more garden pics

The yellow rose is Grahm Thomas and the crimson one is a carpet rose given to me that is a very prolific grower.

This photo is from a recent weekend away with Mark's family to Omapere. That is Mark sitting on the corner and I have my back to camera.

First blog

After humming and harring (is that a word) I have decided to start a blog. It will be more to do with the property, garden and animal goings on and hopefully easier than keeping a diary. Hopefully will also improve my typing skills which are virtually non existent!
Unfortunately that is it for now as the neighbours are away and I need to go and feed their chickens and barn cat inbetween the showers and then later I need to do the therapy with my horse Abbie that was given to me by Sarah the equine physio yesterday.
Hopefully I will have more time to talk about Sarah later.
